Divisions 7 and 8

Lets talk small ball..... I like Mendon, MPSH, Climax Scotts, Crystal Falls, Mendon, and MCC in D8. In D7 you gotta like Saugatuck, Ravenna, Nouvel, Ubly, and maybe McBain. Any others I might have...

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

Snooze's maps for week 4 still have MCC/Saugatuck/Mendon in the same regoin/district. Mendon and Saugatuck going at it in the 1st round is pretty brutal. I do like to see teams like Merrill and Ubly...

Go Mendon! Good to see the guys play well on the road. Looks like MCC had a game on their hands last night

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

I'm glad Mendon beefed up their schedule a bit this year, but we may not know for sure how good Mendon is until week 9.

Sand Creek should be playoff bound as they now have 5 wins.

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

Love how McCabe dishes the Thumb! GTC is 25-8 vs Detroit/GAC opponents (or close to this) since 2001. De Porres, Shrine, New Lothrup. Bring it on McCabe!

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

Harbor Beach is considered for D7 rating purposes since the beginning of the year since that is how the numbers ran.  Deckerville lost big time to Mendon in week 1.  So I don't blame Mick for having...

RO Shrine, beaten by Ubly in 2006 and 2007. Loyola, never bean a serious contender, now the 3rd best in the state? Not saying they aren't worth recognition, but really, why doesn't he recognize a...

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

Basically you ripped NL and what Thumb should be ranked higher than them?  So you didn't answer my question. I do agree with you on Shrine and Loyola being ranked too high, but you should address the...

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

BTW: Harbor Beach has a POP of 70.667, that's #7 of all DIV7/8 schools.

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

Are you really going to rate teams by the POP alone?  I don't and never will.  Otherwise you would have had Detroit Martin Luther King at #1 one year when they had the top rated POP in the state plus...

Mr NCAA, No, I don't consider POP to be all/end all. But it should be factored into a teams overall strength along with the historical strength of a conference. Believe me, New Lothrup does not wish...

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

POP is absolutely useless when determing how good a Class C or D team is. (with the exception Muskegon Catholic Central, and in the past, Detroit de Porres) Just look at last year in Div. 8: Both...

I think I agree with you HSSportsGuru...on most points. The GAC is atrocious, St Ignace playing terrible teams. However the POP of Harbor Beach is fairly accurate. GTE schools are having an amazing...

Re: Divisions 7 and 8

McBain defeated Beal City last night at McBain 48-14. That is a very good, D7 team.  They are big, fast and strong and blasted us off the line of scrimmage all night long. Barring an upset in the next...

No surprise with Mendon over MPSH. I really get the feeling Mendon and MCC are feeding off of each other this year. Trying to out do each other in the quest for Homefield. Would be so awesome if they...
